Northend's 1997's Open Football Trials

With the old season barely over, Northend's 1997's start their preparation on Wednesday 16th May

7.00pm to 9.00pm at Smithfield where open trials and training is commencing for their Foyle Cup

and the Elite National League Squad.

Everyone will be made most welcome and the training will be carried out under the watchful eye of

Congratulations goes to Janusz Woitowicz from Northend U14s who tonight was awarded Player of the Year

for the Belfast and East Antrim Youth League. This award was voted for by the referees who award a

man of the match for each game, with Janusz collecting the most nominations.

Congratulations goes to Janusz for everyone at Northend United Youth FC.

The eagerly awaited Northend Youth Golf Fundraising Day is almost upon us, with the first four-ball due to

Tee-off at 10.00am on Sunday 25th March. With numerous prizes and a host of Sporting personalities attending

this event, this promises to be an excellent day's craic for all concerned. Former Northern Ireland Internationals ,

Alan McDonald, John O'Neill, Stephen Penny, Keith Gillespie, Glenn Ferguson and Paul Kirk, in addition to Radio

Commentator Joel Taggart, will all be lending a hand to the Northend cause on the day.

Falkirk Easter Cup Tournament - Parents Evening Thu 9th February

An information evening for all parents and players going to the Falkirk Cup Tournament at Easter is being

held on Thursday 9th February commencing at 7.00pm in the Michelin Club.

Northend are taking U9, U11 and U12 teams to this tournament in Scotland, in a competition where a number

of Scottish Premier League Teams have entered their Academy teams.

Preston Easter Cup Tournament - April 2012

The U15s have entered this year's Easter Cup Tournament at Preston, England. Leaving Ballymena early

on Thursday 5th April and returning late on Monday 9th April, the boys are in for an action packed few days.

This competition is widely regarded as the top Easter Youth Football Tournament and the Northend Blues

are looking forward to playing teams from throughout the UK.

Ballymena North Driving School

Mini Football Tournament U9s and U10s -Saturday 21st January

Northend United U9s and U10s welcolmed Ballymoney Youth Academy and Ballymena Youth Academy to

participate in a mini soccer tournament at Ballymena Showgrounds Pitch 6 on Saturday 21st January,

commencing at 1.30pm. A successful afternoon's football was had by all, with many interested parents

attending and light refreshments were served afterwards.

McMillan Cancer Research Charity Football Match - Saturday 5th November

Posted 02/11/11 Northend United Legends comprising Coaches and Parents will play Moyola Park FC in a charity football match on Saturday

5th November at Mill Meadow, Moyola Park in Castledawson. The match kicks off at 5.30pm and there will be a bus leaving

the Countryman Inn, Ballymena at 3.30pm. Room is still available for anyone wanting to travel to spectate at this match,

where the cost on the coach will be £2. Entry to the match will be £5 and all proceeds will go towards this worthwhile cause.

Last Person Standing Fundraising Rules

All you have to do is predict a team each weekend that you think will win their game. If your team wins then you go through to make a selection from the following weekend's fixtures, and so on, until there is only one entrant left, ie Last Person Standing.

Rules

1. £10 one off entry fee.

2. Teams to be selected from Saturday and Sunday fixtures in the English Premier League, Championship, Leagues 1 and 2 and Scottish Premier League.

3. You cannot select a team more than once.

4. Entries to be received by Friday, there will be NO reminders.

5. If the last few go out in the same week then the pot will be shared.

6. If you either forget to enter or your game is called off then you get a default selection. This will be the highest placed Premier League team playing at home on the weekend in question. Obviously entrants who have already used that selection previously would get the next highest and so on. League positions to be based on the table prior to the first Saturday kick off.

7. Winner takes all

Northend's Friday Night Mini Soccer for 2004 and 2005s completed its second night with teams from as far away as

Stranocum and Coaching for Christ participating in this fun-filled Tournament for players , parents and spectators alike,

held in Sentry Hill Sports Hall. With further teams showing interest, Northend's Football Development Centre Co-Ordinator

John Devlin is confident of beating the weather, come what may with the Tournamnet's indoor or outdoor facilities.

U9 and U10 teams, the boys will be playing against Ballymoney, Bertie Peacocks, Coleraine Academy and Colts, Carniny,

Limavady and Portrush. Training for the U9 team continues each Wednesday 6.00pm to 7.30pm at the Dunfane Playing

Northend U10s Win First Silverware of Season

Congratulations to the Northend U10s who won their section of the Hillsborough Boys Tournament on Saturday 6th

August, claiming their first silverware of the season.

The U12s also reached the final of the Hillsborough Tournament before they lost out on penalties to Cookstown Youth.

The boys played their passing and move football throughout the tournament and were a joy to watch by all the parents and spectators
